Miyachi Unitek’s seam sealing equipment utilizes a welding, brazing, or soldering process to provide a hermetic seal or mechanical connection between two materials. Typical applications include seam sealing of microelectronic, sensor, crystal, and optoelectronic packages, as well as seam welding of thin metals, foils, and diaphragms.
Seam sealing provides a very reliable hermetic sealing process while maintaining low temperatures in the region of the active devices in the part package.
Miyachi Unitek produces a range of advanced seam sealing equipment for low to high volume applications. These seam sealers provide closed loop control of force, electric current, and electrode position. Control of all of these parameters for seam sealing and seam welding processes are required for optimum process yields.
The Miyachi Unitek seam sealers, with their inverter weld control power supplies, provide excellent control of the energy during the seam sealing process. Advanced features in the seam sealing units which increase process yields include the ability to ramp up and ramp down energy within each weld pulse, as well as the ability to provide less or more energy at the corners of the parts.
The inverter power supply included with the seam sealing equipment has a closed loop 25 kHz feedback rate - the fastest in the industry - for excellent process control. The high feedback rate enables the unit to adjust its output during the process to compensate for variations in part dimensions and plating thickness. |
